In India, RM opened its first off-shore development centre – RM Education Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. (RM ESI) at Technopark, Trivandrum in February 2003. It supports RM in providing leading edge software solutions for a wide range of futuristic education related products and services targeted at the schools in UK and Australia. With an initial investment of Rs.30 million, the company has ambitious growth plans in India. Operations began in June 2003 with a small team of about 50 software developers, technical writers and support staff. Encouraged by the early successes, the team strength is rapidly growing and expected to be 85 by end 2003. The culture at RMESI is marked by the characteristic energy of a start up blended with the old world professionalism of a UK software company with a tradition of over 70 years. We promote an open door policy with a culture of participation where employee task forces take decisions on aspects of every day life.
