RBS India Development Centre
The IDC operates as one co-ordinated unit with three core functions: Retail & Corporate Banking (RCB), Global Banking & markets (GBM) and RBS Insurance (RI). Each function supports the specific business requirements at relevant units across the RBS group whilst leveraging the expertise, experience and knowledge within the centre.
Retail & Corporate Banking (RCB) comprises over 350
people engaged with technologies such as PeopleSoft, IBM Mainframe and Data
Warehousing. RCB teams in India support the core delivery platforms that allow
over 36 million customers to globally transact every single day.

Global Banking and Markets (GBM), the investment banking
arm of RBS group, is the largest provider of banking services and structured
financing to medium and large businesses in the UK.
GBM also provides debt financing and risk management solutions to large businesses
in Europe and North America and is rapidly growing its presence in Asia with
operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, China and India. GBM started hiring
IT professionals for the IDC, working on investment banking technology domain
and business critical applications, in Feb 2006 with plans to build a 600
people strong team by the end of 2007.

RBS Insurance (RI) has recently completed the integration
of UK's Churchill Insurance systems, acquired in 2003, with the core RBS insurance
platform. A team of over 75 people is being formed in 2007 to deliver the
core capability. This will be enhanced over 2008 and beyond.
