The center coordinates and leverages regional engineering, research and technology design delivery skills from several Conexant locations to design a wide variety of new electronic gear for customers.These designs range from complex multi million gate, multi frequencies of above 100 MHz SoCs for various product segments to entire systems. This center works with different business units and design teams to carry out the SoC development projects from Design, RTL coding, Synthesis, DFT and Timing Closure. The experienced ASIC design engineers that form the foundation of our VLSI team in India are evidence of what motivates us to continue expanding in India. Already a productive team, the VLSI group has made major design contributions to tape-out fax modem chips and set-top box solution products. Hardware design projects also include controller based modem chipsets, high performance home network processor devices, multi-function peripheral chips, end-to-end solutions for the digital cable set-top box designs, in-house and third party IP based products and applications.

The Software Group works on the implementation of applications, protocol stacks and device drivers over real-time embedded operating systems such as VxWorks, Nucleus, Embdded Linux etc., for environments like Multifunction Peripherals, Voice/Fax over IP, and other networking protocols. VoIP/FoIP encompasses technologies for telephony signaling and media handling, QoS (Quality of Service) management, NAT (Network Address Traversal), AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting), Web Based provisioning & Configuration, general OA&M (Operations Administration and Maintenance) for the products. The Group also builds networking protocols like SNMP, HTTP, RIPv2 and STUN etc. Software is designed, developed and tested following well-defined processes in order to meet stringent quality requirements. There is a continuous focus on good design techniques, patterns and processes to ensure designs that are robust and optimal in terms of both resource usage and performance. Most software products are designed to be highly portable to various operating systems and hardware platforms.

The Software Group also focuses on Quality Assurance of the products/solutions built here using advanced equipment, hardware and software tools etc. QA is currently focused on the above-mentioned areas, as well as on video/audio driver software developed by Conexant.To further strengthen its competencies, Conexant is looking for young and dynamic leaders and engineers.
