Force10 Networks
Force10 Networks is the pioneer in resilient Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet
switching and routing. Founded in 1999, Force10 revolutionized networking with
the E-Series the first true line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet platform. Today,
Force10 has more than 100 customers worldwide that leverage the industry leading
resiliency and scalability of the E-Series to increase predictable performance.
The Force10 Networks E-Series Family of Switch/Routers
In September 2002, Force10 Networks introduced the E-Series the industry's
first line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch/router. The Force10 E-Series, which
includes the E1200, E600 and E300, combines fully distributed hardware with
best-in-class resiliency to deliver line-rate Gigabit and 10 Gigabit throughput
across all ports regardless of traffic conditions, providing a new level of
performance predictability. With up to 672 Gigabit Ethernet or 56 Ten Gigabit
Ethernet ports per chassis, the Force10 E-Series delivers the unmatched scalability
that ensures long-term investment protection.
Force10 Customers
Force10's rapidly growing customer base relies on the E-Series for unsurpassed
resiliency and scalability. Government organizations and leading enterprises
from around the world, including NASA, the European Centre for Mid-Range Weather
Forecasts, Veritas DGC and PGS, are increasing the performance of their data
centers with the Force10 E-Series while carriers such as NTT-ME, Korea's Hanaro
Telecom, and Japan's Broadband Tower are upgrading their networks with the E-Series
to deliver advanced new services. To build some of the world's fastest supercomputers
and explore the realms of next-generation networking, research organizations
such as Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Argonne National Labs, the National
Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) and Japan's National Institute
of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) are deploying the Force10
E-Series.
The Executive
Team
Force10 Networks is led by Marc Randall, an industry veteran with more
than 20 years of experience in the networking industry. Prior to joining
Force10, Marc spent seven years as vice president of engineering at Cisco
Systems, where he led the development and extension of Cisco's high-end
routing platforms a $2 billion business. At Force10, Marc has built
a team of seasoned executives with more than 120 years of combined experience
in data networking.
