Essar has a management
trainee programme as well as a graduate engineer/diploma
engineer training programme. Essar also hires
fresh graduates outside of these programmes,
as sales trainees and chartered accountant
interns. |

We prefer that you apply
for only one listed opening at a time. However,

process? |

Essar’s selection process
depends on the level of the position you are
applying for. For entry-level positions, we
assess the person through aptitude tests,
group discussions and personal interviews.
At the senior level, the selection process
consists of discussions with the human resources
head, functional experts within Essar and
sometimes the promoter-directors. |

how soon should I expect to hear from you?

You can expect to hear
from us within three to six weeks. If you
do not hear from us within that time, you
can assume that we do not currently have an
opening that fits your profile. |

Unfortunately, due to the
volume of applications that we receive, we
will not be able to answer individual queries.
However, if you do not hear from us within
6-8 weeks of your application, please assume

current opening and that we would consider

We treat all applications
as strictly confidential. We do not share
applicant profiles or information with head
hunters or with other recruiters. However,
we may share them with other Essar group companies.
We also do not check references with your
current employer at the initial stage, though
you will be asked to submit such references
before you join. |

Ans.

Your location will depend
on the business requirement and your area
of specialisation. Essar is a multi-location
business group and you should be open to both
plant and corporate exposure. Essar looks
at both availability of posts and an individual’s
location preferences before deciding on postings.

Essar is a huge conglomerate
with a footing in many countries, so you may
be required to travel or transfer abroad.
For example, many employees have travelled
